Mission
Double R Parts strives to be the go-to partner when it comes to OEM parts for workshops in the motorcycle branch worldwide. Double R parts aims to achieve this through working with a unique and complete platform combined with the highest possible service grade, extensive support and personal attention. Our challenge is to supply motorcycles with high quality and safe OEM parts for as long as possible.
The Roots
Roelof Schiltmans worked as commercial director at Motorhuis Safe in Rotterdam, and later at Euro Motorcycles Group, which was formed from a group of motorcycle shops in the Netherlands, Germany, and Spain.
Motorhuis Safe also had various wholesale activities such as Motorama, which distributed MQP, Arai, and PNO parts, Aprilia distributor Safe Tweewieler Import (STI), Ducati distributor DNL, and finally, the Motor Trading Company (MTC).
Motor Trading Company
In the 1970s, wholesale activities started within Motorhuis Safe, driven by overstock situations the Japanese brands had in the Netherlands.
By the late 1980s a strong demand for new cruiser bikes emerged in the Netherlands. These bikes were readily available in great quantities in the USA, and to import them, the Motor Trading Company was founded, under management of Robert van de Nadort.
Around 1990, the import even expanded to used bikes. Thousands of Honda Shadows, Kawasaki Vulcans, Suzuki Intruders and Yamaha Viragos were shipped in double-layered containers.
The start of Double R
In 1996, Double R started as Double R Trading, founded by Roelof Schiltmans and Robert van de Nadort.
Initially, Double R focused solely on trading in motorcycles. However, it didn’t take long for the company to start supplying its customers with parts as well. In 2017, the parts division became its own entity, known as Double R Parts.
The future of Double R
With the retirements of Roelof Schiltmans in 2015 and Robert van de Nadort in 2022, the reins were handed over to Karsten van de Nadort, Robert’s son. With Karsten’s know-how of the industry and intimate knowledge of the company, everything is kept in capable hands.
Reliable Relation
The two R's in Double R are in part inspired by the names of the founders of the company but they also stand for "Reliable Relation". This is a core value of Double R and means that we want to be a trustworthy partner in a long lasting business relationship. To this day many partners from the early days of Double R or even earlier are still successfully doing business with us.
